Hydrant Flushing and Valve Maintenance

NOTICE - SPRING 2012

HYDRANT FLUSHING DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS

EAST SIDE:
  April 16 through April 20
WEST SIDE:  April 23 through April 27

THIS COULD MAKE YOUR WATER DISCOLORED

The Village has implemented a revised flushing program. The State Department of Environmental Quality requires directional flushing to remove iron and sulfate deposits from water lines, which results in the temporary discoloration of water.

Directional water line flushing will be completed in your area on the dates indicated above. Please be aware that between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. water quality can change at any time. This means that it is more likely that water may become cloudy as deposits are removed from the lines. If water becomes discolored, you will need to run it until it clears.

Please be aware that flushing can cause water discoloration anywhere in the Village during this two week time.

The Village provides this information to make customers aware of the temporary discoloration of water and to remind residents to be careful when doing laundry to avoid discolored clothing. Water is safe to consume during flushing.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but flushing is necessary maintenance. Thank you for your patience.
